Norman Steisel was a Senior Vice President at Lazard Freres, and while there he financed transactions of over $2B. While at Lazard Freres, he served (pro bono) as the first Chairman of the School Construction Authority. The School Construction Authority is an independent authority chartered by New York State. They have responsibility for the design, construction, modernization, and rehabilitation of public schools in New York City.
