From January 2003 to July 2008, Norman Steisel was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX). An essential member of the PHLX strategic management team, Mr. Steisel was accountable for supervising the day-to-day operations by way of which the Exchange’s initiatives and strategic plans were carried out.
The design of the strategic plan was to extract value via leveraging regulatory licenses, enhancing technology assets, and offering unique trading products and modalities. The Exchange was eventually sold to NASDAQ OMX. Mr. Steisel coordinated the PHLX’s involvement in integration activities and transition planning with NASDAQ OMX.
